A Fighter Group is an aerospace formation comprised of 72 fighters in three Flights of 24 fighters each.
It should be noted that in The Commonwealth military, group is used for a larger 360 fighter formation and wing is used for the 72 fighter formation, as evidenced in the CAF Aerospace Corps rank structure.
TOG Navy, Republican Navy and Commonwealth Royal Navy Groups (and Commonwealth Royal Aerospace Corps Wings) are commanded by Colonel-grade flag officers.
Five Groups form a Wing (known as a Group in the RAC).
